West Fork Project
The West Fork watershed covers more than 6,000 acres in western Hamilton County and includes portions of the City of Cincinnati, City of Cheviot and Green Township.
Within Cincinnati, the watershed includes portions of College Hill, East Westwood, Fay Apartments, Mt. Airy, Northside, South Cumminsville and Westwood.
The watershed was named after the West Fork Creek, a tributary of the Mill Creek. The creek flows naturally in the hillside areas but is channelized (concrete bottom and sides) in the valley along West Fork Road.
Every year, about 300 million gallons of raw sewage – mixed with stormwater – overflow through 15 separate CSO outfalls into the West Fork Creek.
